Haiku

From Ramco
Cloud over Qualco,
but buttercups remember
colours of the sun.

Murbko
Rainbows bend above
the sandhills. Malee country
fertile for a time.

Haylands
Haylands winter-green.
Wind shifts rain-clouds. River cliffs
ochred by the sun.

Modern Barossa
Eyesored by concrete
Penrice offers visitors
tours of the quarry.

Houseboat Haiku
Images of cliffs
distort. Passing pelicans
ripple reflections.

Feet pass in half dark,
tripods spread, lenses focus,
shutters snap at light.

With friends like me –
‘Men don’t cry’ I tell
the grieving child. Confusing
when he sees me weep.
