Discharge

Feet resume the dignity of shoes.
Fingers  flick, a neck tie knots and slides.
The man who lay there sweating, petulant and
writhing  two, three days ago shakes hands
and waves — strides off.  He looks a different man  —
perhaps he feels a little different  too.
